Delivering warmth to Nottingham City Homes

Representing the 'Warmth' area of a comprehensive 'Secure Warm Modern' scheme to bring 29,000 homes up to the Decent Homes standard, BDR Thermea has joined forces with Nottingham City Homes to install 11,200 new high efficiency boilers over three years.

Close collaboration

The target is to install 405 new boilers a month, all of which are being supplied by BDR Thermea. In order for Nottingham City Homes to complete this huge refurbishment project by 2013, an effective supply chain is essential. This requires close collaboration with manufacturer, contractors and local merchants to ensure the installation work can be carried out quickly and effectively in residents' homes with minimum inconvenience.

Comprehensive solution

BDR Thermea is supplying a wide range of high efficiency boilers to suit the diverse needs of the various properties being updated. In addition, the company is also providing complete technical, training and service back up.

The BDR Thermea boilers are being supplied through local Nottingham-based merchants, with installation shared between Nottingham City Homes' own property services section and contractor partners: Vinshires Plumbing & Heating and Superior Plumbing Installations.

Key features and benefits:

  • Wide range of award-winning Baxi and Potterton HE boilers from combi, system, heat only, floor-standing and back boiler units
  • High efficiency solution - SEDBUK 2005 >90% efficiency rating gives fuel and carbon savings
  • Choice of outputs to suit a variety of property sizes
  • Low NOx ratings available across the range
  • Combi boilers can be fitted with an SAP Appendix Q-listed Multifit GasSaver

Paul Ruston, head of the 'Warmth' project for Nottingham City Homes, is delighted with the partnership with BDR Thermea:

" Nottingham City Homes is committed to providing affordable warmth for all our residents. Replacing old inefficient boilers with new high efficiency models along with double glazing and adequate loft insulation helps to lower their fuel use and save them money.”
